Today we began the program and introducing ourselves. Most of the students come from vocational education high schools or polytechnical colleges. They have a range of teaching areas such as computer science, engineering, music and so on. They want to learn about eLearning and when asked about the changes that are impacting on educationlly delivery internationlaly such as Web 2.0 they had not heard of the term.

I outlined the outcomes of the workhops which are:

Arriving in Korea

I have travelled to Korea to conduct a 5 day program on eLearning to Korean lecturers from vocational education and training organisations. I spent my first night in Incheon and then travelled to Suwon by bus.

Suwon, is 48km south of Seoul and the outstanding attraction is Hwaseong, a restored fortress originally built between 1794 and 1796 during the reign of King Jeongio. This has been designated a World Heritage site.

Suk, the Professor of eLearning at the university, and my interpreter for the week’s lecture, picked me up and we did a tour of the palace and the walled city. We also had a wonderful Korean lunch and my first experience of eating snails!
